Next Bar Entry is a professional NinjaTrader 8 add-on that automates breakout, retracement, or market entries on the next confirmed bar using your Chart Trader settings. Built for disciplined price action traders who want faster execution, stronger confirmation controls, and less hesitation.
Description
Next Bar Entry 2.4 is built for traders who wait for bar-close confirmation and want execution to happen exactly as planned. Arm a trade on the signal bar, then let the add-on submit the entry on the next bar using Stop order, Retracement, or Market order logic.Version 2.0 is a redesigned release: a cleaner dashboard, dedicated sliders for Signal Bar Strength and Retracement with one-tap presets, and a live status bar that shows the exact order it just armed — all built for serious futures traders who want cleaner execution without chasing price, hesitating at the trigger, or fumbling through fast market conditions.
Next Bar Entry is different from a signal generator: it is an execution add-on for traders who already know their setup and want the order placed cleanly after confirmation. It supports scalping workflows, second-entry setups, breakout continuation trades, and retracement entries directly inside Chart Trader.
For traders building a more complete workflow, Next Bar Entry pairs naturally with Advanced Second Entry for setup identification and PAT Risk Manager for account-level protection.

A walkthrough of Next Bar Entry’s features — arming a trade, bar-close confirmation, and submitting the order on the next bar using the selected execution mode.
How It Works
Arm a Buy Next Bar or Sell Next Bar directly from Chart Trader.
The add-on snapshots your Account, Quantity, TIF, and ATM template at arm-time.
Once the signal bar closes, the order is submitted on the next bar using your selected mode.
If the entry is not filled by the end of that next bar, it is canceled automatically.
This next-bar execution tool is built around one core idea: your order should follow the plan you saw on the chart, not your reaction in the moment. By automating order placement after bar-close confirmation, Next Bar Entry helps reduce late clicks, rushed decisions, and missed fills in fast-moving markets.
What’s New in Version 2.4
Version 2.4 builds on the 2.0 dashboard redesign, adding more control over order fill behavior and confirmation, around the same arm-and-confirm workflow traders already know.
Redesigned dashboard with a clearer Mode row, dedicated sliders, and one-tap presets.
New live status bar that displays the exact armed order — side, price, trigger, instrument, and settings — in plain text at a glance.
Signal Bar Strength and Retracement are now independent sliders with numeric input and 10–50% presets, instead of settings buried in a menu.
New Collapsed Mode hides the Mode row and both sliders, leaving just Buy/Sell/Cancel and the live status bar — ideal for small monitors or traders who just want a focused execution panel.
Refreshed Light and Dark themes with a clearer version label in the header.
Choose Stop-Limit or Stop-Market fill behavior and set an adjustable Confirm ticks value for Stop order entries.
Choose a mode from the Mode row, then confirm with the Strong Close checkbox if you want stricter signal-bar filtering. The live status bar above the mode row always shows exactly what is currently armed.
Stop Order
Default next-bar breakout entry using price-based stop logic.
Choose Stop-Limit (default) to cap the fill at the confirmed price, or Stop-Market to guarantee a fill once triggered, with slippage risk in a fast move — set in the Settings tab.
Adjustable Confirm ticks (1–20, default 1) sets how many ticks past the breakout trigger the order rests before it fires, for both Stop-Limit and Stop-Market.
Built for traders who want confirmation before price expands through the signal bar.
Retracement
Waits for price to break beyond the signal bar first, then places a limit order back inside the range using the Retracement % slider.
Useful for oversized signal bars, fast markets, or traders who prefer improved entry location.
Market Order
Submits a market order on the next bar for traders who want immediate participation after confirmation.
Useful when speed matters more than price improvement.
Signal Bar Strength & Retracement Sliders
Version 2.0 replaces the old settings-menu percentages with two dedicated sliders on the dashboard itself, each with a numeric field and one-tap presets.
Enable Strong Close to require the signal bar to close near the edge of its range, then set the exact threshold with the Signal Bar Strength slider or a 10% / 20% / 30% / 40% / 50% preset.
Enable Body Color alongside it to also require directional candle-body confirmation.
In Retracement mode, the Retracement slider (with the same preset row) sets how far price must pull back before the limit order fills.
Both sliders and their presets work with Stop order, Retracement, and Market order workflows.
Collapsed Mode
Prefer a minimal panel? Collapsed Mode hides the Mode row, Signal Bar Strength slider, and Retracement slider entirely, leaving just Buy Next Bar, Sell Next Bar, Cancel, and the live status bar. Your Mode, Strong Close, Signal Bar Strength, and Retracement settings stay exactly as configured underneath — collapsing only changes what’s visible, not what’s armed.
Useful on small monitors, secondary displays, or any time you want to stay focused on execution and current order status without extra controls on screen.
Execution Controls & Workflow Features
Custom hotkeys for Buy Next Bar, Sell Next Bar, and Cancel, alongside Runtime build and settings-file info.
Optional trigger lock: hold Shift while arming to keep the click-time trigger snapshot.
Custom hotkeys for Buy Next Bar, Sell Next Bar, and Cancel.
The Settings tab also lets you choose Stop-Limit vs. Stop-Market fill behavior and set the Confirm ticks value (1–20) used by Stop order entries.
Works with your existing Chart Trader setup and ATM templates.
Dark and Light theme support.
The Settings tab shows your build version, load timestamp, and the exact hotkeys and license file paths on disk, with a Reset Local State button for clearing saved settings when troubleshooting.
Custom hotkeys and faster confirmation controls make this especially useful for active intraday traders who need next-bar entries to stay practical in live conditions, not just look good in a screenshot.
Built-In Protections
No entry if the signal bar does not meet your confirmation rules.
Automatic cancel if the order is not filled by the end of the next bar.
Failsafe behavior prevents naked ATM submissions when bracket attachment cannot be applied.
Designed for structured, rules-based execution rather than impulse entries.
For traders who want stronger discipline across the full trade lifecycle, Next Bar Entry can also be used alongside Price Action Tools documentation and PAT Risk Manager to combine cleaner entries with stricter risk control.
Who This Is For
Price action traders who enter on bar-close confirmation.
Scalpers who want faster execution without chasing price.
Second-entry traders who want cleaner next-bar execution after confirmation.
Traders who already use Chart Trader and ATM templates inside NinjaTrader 8.
Confirmation-Based Entries for NinjaTrader 8
Next Bar Entry is built around one habit: waiting for the signal bar to actually close before an order goes out. Rather than reacting mid-bar, the add-on snapshots your setup at arm-time and waits for confirmation, then submits the entry on the next bar using breakout, retracement, or market logic. This is what makes it an entry confirmation indicator rather than a signal generator — it does not tell you what to trade, it helps you execute the trade you already planned without chasing price or hesitating at the trigger.
Built for Traders Who Want a Reliable Entry Confirmation Indicator
Plenty of tools promise faster entries. Next Bar Entry is built for traders who care more about reliability than speed for its own sake — bar-close confirmation, automatic cancellation if the fill does not happen, and failsafe protection against naked ATM submissions. The goal is a repeatable process you can trust in live conditions, not just a demo clip.
Free Trial
A free trial is available for traders who want to test Next Bar Entry in their own NinjaTrader 8 environment before buying the licensed version. Use the trial to confirm the breakout stop, retracement, market, Strong Close, hotkey, and ATM-template workflow with your own charts and execution process.
Version 2.4.0 — Stop-Limit/Stop-Market order types, adjustable Confirm ticks, refreshed Dark and Light themes
Next Bar Entry helps turn confirmation-based trading into a repeatable execution process inside NinjaTrader, so your entries follow the plan you saw on the chart.
It is built specifically for the NinjaTrader 8 platform and works within the Chart Trader workflow many futures traders already use every day. If you want to review NinjaTrader order handling and ATM behavior in more detail, see the official NinjaTrader documentation.
