Description
Advanced Second Entry Strategy is an automated execution add-on for NinjaTrader 8 that trades the Advanced Second Entry indicator’s 2EL and 2ES signals directly — submitting stop entries, managing its own structural stop, and flattening if that stop can’t be applied — so you’re not clicking through every setup by hand. It requires the Advanced Second Entry indicator and is licensed separately as a companion add-on, not a replacement.
Why Traders Use This Strategy Add-On
Trades the indicator’s own 2EL/2ES signals — no separate signal logic to second-guess
Submits the entry on the same bar the signal confirms, one tick beyond that bar’s own extreme
Applies its own structural stop once filled, anchored to the signal bar’s opposite extreme
Cancels stale unfilled entries automatically at the start of the next bar
Force-flattens rather than leaving a position with no protective stop applied
Continuation and Fade, Driven by Trend
Direction is decided by the indicator’s own Dow-theory swing-pivot trend tracking, not just the raw signal direction.
Continuation — a trend-aligned signal (2EL in an uptrend, 2ES in a downtrend) arms a trade in that same direction
Fade — a counter-trend signal arms the opposite direction instead, betting the counter-trend breakout fails
Fade is on by default and can be turned off, so a counter-trend signal is simply skipped rather than traded raw
A neutral trend (no established pivot sequence yet) is treated as trend-aligned
Order Submission and Structural Stop Management
The strategy submits and manages its own orders directly against your ATM template — there’s no dependency on any other AddOn to arm entries.
Stop order placed one tick beyond the signal bar’s own extreme, with a configurable break offset
Unfilled entry orders are only good for the bar they were submitted on and are cancelled as soon as the next bar starts
A rejected order triggers a one-bar cooldown before it can be resubmitted
Once filled, a structural stop one tick beyond the signal bar’s opposite extreme is applied via your ATM template’s stop order
If the structural stop can’t be applied after repeated attempts, the position is force-flattened rather than left unprotected
Filters and Indicator Pass-Through Controls
Optional EMA filter — requires price on the correct side of the EMA, with an adjustable maximum distance
Strict Signal Bars pass-through — only trade signals whose bar closed strongly enough in the breakout direction
Projection lines pass-through — draws the indicator’s own anticipated entry/stop/target lines on the strategy’s auto-added chart instance
Status HUD showing current trend, active order/position state, and what’s being watched next
Not backtestable in Strategy Analyzer — ATM strategies only execute against live, Sim, or Replay order routing, a NinjaTrader constraint rather than something specific to this strategy
Validate using Market Replay or a Sim account before running live
One trade active at a time; a new signal isn’t evaluated again until the prior one is flat
