Restart your PC, update NinjaTrader 8, or just close it overnight, and you’re back at the same sign-in dialog typing the same password. It’s a few seconds each time, but it’s a few seconds every single time — and it’s exactly the kind of friction a small script can remove for good.
Short version: NT8 Auto-Login is a free, open-source Windows tool. You enter your NinjaTrader username and password once during setup — it’s encrypted and saved in Windows Credential Manager, never in a plaintext file or script. After that, one shortcut launches NinjaTrader and logs you in automatically.
Install it, run Set Up NT8 Credential once to save your username and password, and from then on you launch NinjaTrader through the NT8 Auto-Login shortcut instead of NinjaTrader’s own icon. It starts NT8, waits for the sign-in dialog, types your password, and clicks Log In — no typing required.

Your username field already autofills on its own in NinjaTrader, so the script only touches the password — and it leaves “Sign in with Google/Apple” alone entirely if that’s what you normally use.
The script doesn’t look for NinjaTrader’s sign-in window by title or position — those can change between NT8 versions and skins. Instead it scans open windows for the specific combination of a masked password field and a “Log In” button together. Only when both are present does it act.
Your NinjaTrader password is saved exactly once, encrypted, in Windows Credential Manager — the same OS-level vault Windows, Edge, and Office use for saved logins. It’s never written to a plaintext file and never hardcoded anywhere in the scripts.

Worth being upfront about the limits: that encryption is tied to your Windows user account, so anyone already logged in as you (or an admin on the machine) could still retrieve it — the same exposure as any other saved Windows credential, browser passwords included. It’s not protection against someone who already has access to your Windows login, just against the password sitting around in plaintext.
Most people will want the installer:
NT8AutoLogin-Setup.exe and run it — no admin rights needed, it installs per-user.

Since the installer isn’t code-signed, Windows SmartScreen will flag it as from an unrecognized publisher the first time — click More info → Run anyway. If you’d rather skip the installer entirely, the source is right there on GitHub: copy the AutoLogin folder to your PC and run Setup-NT8Credential.ps1 directly.
There’s no license, no purchase, and no closed binary to just trust — every line of PowerShell behind the installer is on GitHub, along with the GitHub Actions workflow that builds the installer itself, so you can see exactly how the .exe was produced or build your own from source. It’s a small piece of a NinjaTrader 8 workflow — if you’re setting one up from scratch, see the rest of our NT8 indicators and tools.
